Alliance board member Elizabeth Goodenough of the University of Michigan is known for her exhibit and book on the Secret Spaces of Childhood. Her work has inspired a new PBS documentary titled "Where Do the Children Play?" to be aired in 2008. It is accompanied by a study guide of the same title.

A grant from the Foundation for Global Community has enabled Elizabeth Goodenough, the Alliance for Childhood, and partners to promote the film and study guide as part of a global education and engagement campaign on the critical importance of children's self-directed play.

This 55-minute film, directed by Christopher Cook and produced by Michigan Television, is now available for public screenings by schools, universities, and community organizations. For more information about organizing a screening e-mail Pam Lotz, pam@allianceforchildhood.org, or call us at 301-779-1033.
